Odds and Evens Online Privacy Policy
10 Feb 2017
This privacy policy is required because the registration fields in Odds And Evens Online
ask for some of your information, so it’s a good idea to read this so that
you know why I collect it and what happens to your data. Please feel free to
email me at itmeded@gmail.com if you have any further questions or
queries.
1. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person.
When registering for Odds and Evens Online, I ask for only 3 pieces of information:
- Username:
Within normal limits (no special characters, no spaces) and up to 30
characters, you can create any username you like if it is not already
taken. Usernames are not case-sensitive, so if
someone has already chosen BobJones, then bobjones or bobJones
will not be available. Your username is a unique identifier, and
is displayed to your opponents in any game, so, if your name is Robert Jones and you do not want anyone to know that you play Odds and Evens Online, then choosing BobJones as your username is probably not a good idea. Don’t choose KenMasters either, because that is already taken, by me. You can test that if you like.
- Your
email address: This field is optional, and the only reason I ask for it
is that, if you forget your username and/or password (see next field)
then you can email me and I will sort out your problem. If you
prefer not to enter a valid email address, that is fine; you can use
this field as a sort of backup password. If though, it’s blank,
then I’m not going to know if you really are BobJones, so I’m afraid I won’t help you, and you will have to create a new account. Dang, but even Facebook does that.
- Your
password: Same restrictions as the username. But don’t be
silly: don’t use your username as a password, and also stay away from
12345, qwerty123, mypass, passwordmine, etc. Otherwise, you might
find someone hijacking your username and losing games, making you look
a bit silly.
I won’t disclose any information to any third party unless I am required to do so by law.
2. NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION
Non-personal
information is data in a form that does not permit direct association
with any specific individual, such as your Android ID, CPN model,
memory size, your phone IMEI number, phone model, rom, installed
application name and package name, phone operator, location, install,
uninstall, frequency of use, etc.
I don’t collect ANY of
this information (I don’t even know what some of those things are),
including anything about your phone type, Operating System (well, I
know that’s Android, anyway), etc.
Naturally, while the game is
on-going, I have to keep track of the current status of your game, your
scores, etc. For 72 hours after the game has ended, I also keep
the username of the winner. After 72 hours, the game is removed
entirely. I don’t track history of games, etc., although this
might change with later versions of the app if people would like to
keep a record of their wins, but I haven’t got that far yet.
3. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
I
keep the information I’ve mentioned above in Google fusion tables, and,
when it is deleted, it’s deleted using the standard SQL statement to
delete information from those fusion tables. That’s pretty
secure. Let’s face it, if Google gets hacked, then your Odds and
Evens Online username, password and current game scores are going to be
the least of your worries. My personal gmail password is more 15
characters long and is a mixture of letters and numbers, so would also
take quite a bit of hacking.
4. COMMITMENT TO YOUR PRIVACY
I wrote this game alone, and no-one else has access to it or any of the data.
5. PRIVACY QUESTIONS
Again, if you have any questions or concerns about my Privacy Policy or data processing, please email me.
I may update the Privacy Policy from time to time. The date of the last update will be listed at the top of this page.
6. CONCLUSION
I’m really impressed that you’ve actually read this far. You must be quite a rare human. Well done.
